Here's another sketch page for one of the main characters. He's the type of guy that very much enjoys blaming all of his problems on his childhood.  Luckily' that gives us a chance to catch glimpses of his childhood antics through flashback.. 

I'll still need to work out his facial design, right now it's a bit generic looking. Check one of the previous images for a closer approximation.

Hello'

I'm still..slowly moving forward finalizing the designs for the main characters. This page of sketches are of Mo, one of my favorite characters in Fading Oasis. I think with one more pass I'll be able to nail down his costume and facial structure.

Also this past week I saw Brave and was lucky enough to attend a Brave Panel at Nucleus! Both the artist panel and movie were very fun and inspirational. Leave it up to Pixar, Disney and Dreamworks visual development artists to light a fire of inspiration . .

These ladies are adventurers and romantics. They love their friendships, helping others and all things soft.

In terms of design I like the contrast between the characters but, I'll be tweaking the costumes a bit more before they are finalized.

Hello'

These sketches are a rough pass at finalizing the four main characters of Fading Oasis. The archetypes are going the right direction but, I think I should slightly caricature the differences between them all just a bit more. Also, I'm still not happy with their costumes so hopefully I'll be able to deal with that in the next pass.

Welcome to May's!

And welcome to the first art post!

     This is May and her Lodge. She inherited the lodge from her Grandpa who built it when her parent's were just kids. The estate boasts three guest rooms, a restaurant, bar and lounge(All which still need concepted). I've been thinking about my Kiki's Delivery Service artbook and I just can't get over how amazing Miyazaki's loose layout drawings are. I could use some of that brilliance as I flush out the lodge.. "C'est la vie"

These are not the final designs. I'm just trying to get a rough first pass for everything in the book..

Also May loves her blue sweater, she thinks it goes well with her hair. ^ ^
